The Yakumo 0.7.5, native port of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver., received support for community translations, including Brazilian Portuguese files. The update released by TeamGDB on October 13, 2026 also brings together configurable controls, monster lock-on, free camera and photo mode, as well as fixes for Android.
The unprecedented highlight of this version is the file import .lang, without altering the original game image. Meanwhile, lock-on and photo mode are part of the set of improvements accumulated since version 0.6.4, as clarified by the changelog. Although the HD edition was released for PlayStation 3, its executable is based on PSP code. Yakumo recompiles this code, rather than the native PS3 software, to run without a traditional emulator.
Yakumo 0.7.5 enables Monster Hunter translation into Portuguese
To apply a translation, the user goes to System → Text → Import Translation, chooses the community file, and restarts the program after selecting the text language. In addition, the support accepts original Japanese images and HD versions previously translated into English. However, missing excerpts in the file remain in the original language.
The project mhp3rd-yakumo-ptbr, by devdouglasonofre, provides the Brazilian translation separately. However, TeamGDB does not include this content in the main download. In addition, the developers warn that long texts may still exceed the available space in the interface and that not all modified quests have been verified. The direct download button appears in the tutorial below.
As a visual reference, the image below shows a quest area from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD. However, the capture is from the original game and does not prove execution on Yakumo 0.7.5.

In addition to the translation, the new version also brings interface improvements that expand the options for playing.
Lock-on, free camera and control improvements
The update brings together the camera that tracks large monsters, control configurations with button combinations, and support for devices that SDL does not automatically identify. In addition, the experimental photo mode allows you to pause the scene, move the camera, and save images in PNG.
It is also possible to hide the HUD, speed up the simulation in solo mode, and change the armor's appearance without altering its stats. However, layered armor visuals still do not sync properly in multiplayer, according to the official patch notes.
On Android, Yakumo allows you to reposition virtual buttons and import texture packs and mods via the system file picker. Meanwhile, GPU compatibility fixes aim to prevent the unnecessary activation of slower modes on certain MediaTek devices.
Images from the original HD edition help identify the game's environments and interface. Therefore, they are not captures of port tests.

Therefore, the recompilation's camera and control adjustments must be evaluated separately from these official captures.
What still does not work perfectly
TeamGDB maintains open reports of black screens on devices with the Dimensity 7025, crashes on the Galaxy A54 when leaving the Gathering Hall, and suspension issues on the AYN Thor. Additionally, there are animation limitations at high presentation refresh rates.
The game engine continues to simulate logic at 30 FPS, while optional interpolation produces intermediate frames for 45, 60, 90, or 120 Hz screens. Therefore, interpolation should not be interpreted as a universal increase in actual game speed.
Another screenshot of the original game shows the combat system and interface used as a reference by the project.

Thus, Yakumo's performance and compatibility depend on the device and the version used.
How to download and install Yakumo 0.7.5
The port offers public packages for Android ARM64, Windows x64, Linux/Steam Deck, and macOS Apple Silicon. In addition, the release includes separate files per platform. To play, you need the internal image in PSP ISO format corresponding to your legally obtained copy of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. (NPJB-40001), released for PS3. The complete PlayStation 3 disc ISO, including a file .dec.iso, it does not work directly in the installer. The accepted image must contain the folder PSP_GAME at the root. Therefore, it is necessary to extract or properly prepare the internal image of the HD edition from the game's own files; simply renaming the PS3 ISO does not work. The standard PSP edition ISO also does not replace the HD version required by Yakumo.
- Check your device's requirements and back up your saves.
- Download the official package corresponding to your platform using the buttons below.
How to install the PT-BR translation in Yakumo
- Use your system's package: on Windows, extract the ZIP and run Yakumo.exe; on Linux/Steam Deck, install the Flatpak; on macOS, open the DMG. Finally, on Android, install the ARM64 APK without uninstalling the previous version.
- On first launch, select the internal ISO of the HD edition (NPJB-40001), in PSP format and with
PSP_GAMEat the root. Do not select the external PS3 disc ISO. If "This file can't be used" appears, check the file structure before trying again. - Download the PT-BR translation file in the button below. Then, in Yakumo, go to System → Text → Import Translation, select
pt-BR.lang, choose Portuguese (Brazil) in Game text language and restart the game.
The translation is a community package separate from the port. According to the author, version 1.0 was tested on Windows with the HD edition already translated into English; the original Japanese image, Android, Linux, and macOS have not yet had their compatibility confirmed. Additionally, some texts may present revision errors or exceed interface fields.
The buttons for the Yakumo port point to version 0.7.5 files, identified on GitHub on October 14, 2026, and do not change automatically. Meanwhile, the button for the PT-BR translation uses the direct file address in the latest release, as long as the project keeps the name pt-BR.lang. Thus, clicking it requests the download without opening the releases page. Installation was not tested by our team.
What has changed since its arrival on Android
O Allves Games already followed the arrival of the Monster Hunter Portable 3rd recompilation on Android in September. Now, version 0.7.5 brings an independent milestone: the import of translations and a round of cross-platform features and fixes.
Therefore, this news does not announce a new separate port. Instead, it is the evolution of the same Yakumo, which remains in development and relies on the original user-provided copy of the game.
