The Wii Party Recomp 0.1.9 made important progress on October 10, 2026. According to developer arelkair, the project has reached 100% coverage in the audio and graphics metrics it tracks. In addition, the update improves the launcher and expands the features of the native PC port.
However, these numbers do not indicate that the entire game is 100% functional. At the time of version 0.1.9, the creator reported approximately 89% overall progress. The project remains in the alpha stage and still has compatibility limitations.
Wii Party Recomp 0.1.9 makes progress in audio and graphics
First, the developer details the changes on the official version 0.1.9-alpha page. The update focuses efforts on components that reproduce the audiovisual behavior of the original Wii Party.
First, the project made advancements in audio decoding for the Wii Remote speaker. The system works with 4-bit ADPCM and 8-bit PCM formats. In this way, the computer can reproduce effects that the game originally sent to the Wii controller.
Additionally, the author fixed graphical clipping issues, including scissor offset adjustments. The code also received improvements in logging graphical operations through WP_LOG_GX.

Despite these improvements, the 100% percentage represents only the technical components evaluated by the author. Therefore, the milestone does not prove the perfect functioning of all modes or minigames.
Launcher receives mouse controls and F10 menu
Another new feature involves the computer interface. Now, the F10 options menu accepts mouse interaction, which facilitates adjustments during matches. In addition, the launcher has gained a screenshot viewer.
Furthermore, the project allows configuring keyboard, mouse, and controller inputs. This way, the player can adapt part of the experience without relying exclusively on the original Wii Remote.
However, the team still needs to test some device combinations and game modes. For this reason, the port maintains the alpha classification.
How does Wii Party work natively on PC?
The Wii Party Recomp 0.1.9 it uses static recompilation of the Nintendo Wii's PowerPC code to generate a native computer application. Instead of running the game through the Dolphin emulator, the project translates the code and implements the necessary components to handle audio, graphics, and controls.
The official repository explains how recompilation works and presents the development files.
Additionally, the launcher prepares the executable from the game data provided by the user. Thus, the project does not need to distribute a commercial copy of Wii Party.

For now, the solution still requires a legitimate copy of the game. The developer accepts formats such as ISO, WBFS, RVZ, CISO, WIA, and GCM, according to the project documentation.
Windows and Linux receive versions of Wii Party Recomp
Meanwhile, the port offers support for 64-bit Windows. Additionally, the developer provides an experimental launcher for Linux x86_64 in AppImage format.
On Windows, the program automates part of the game preparation. On Linux, however, the user needs to install compilation dependencies and meet the requirements indicated by the creator.
On the other hand, Linux support still has limitations. The documentation reports tests on Ubuntu 24.04 under WSL. Therefore, there is no guarantee of identical functionality across all distributions or hardware configurations.

Why 100% audio and graphics doesn't mean a complete game?
The project's indicators evaluate different parts of Wii Party's operation. While audio and graphics have reached the targets reported by the developer, other systems still have pending issues.
For example, the author needs to expand testing for full modes, controller inputs, and different computer configurations. Consequently, the technical coverage percentages do not represent a guarantee of full compatibility.

Furthermore, the project's current README already presents a general estimate of 91%, higher than the 89% associated with the tally of version 0.1.9. Therefore, anyone checking the repository later may find more recent metrics.
What to expect from future versions?
Finally, Wii Party Recomp remains in active development. According to the documentation, the author intends to improve performance, test more modes, and expand controller compatibility. Allves Games also follows other native ports of Wii games, such as Muscle March, which uses an independent project.
Meanwhile, players can track changes via GitHub and report issues on the official channels. Even so, each new build requires testing before any conclusions can be drawn about stability.
