The Gen1Recomp 0.3.74 arrived on October 10, 2026, with new fixes for classic Pokémon games. Recent updates resolve issues in trainer battles in Pokémon Emerald, adjust Pikachu animations in Pokémon Yellow, and fix bugs in the Hall of Fame ceremony.
Additionally, developer bryanthaboi released versions 0.3.72, 0.3.73, and 0.3.74 on the same day. They also bring fixes for music, dialogue, animations, and behaviors across different games. The packages are available for Windows, Android, Linux, macOS, and other platforms.
Gen1Recomp 0.3.74 brings new fixes for Pokémon
Gen1Recomp 0.3.74 focuses adjustments on different parts of the games. As per the official changelog, the developer fixed an item window overlap issue on PC.
In addition, the update adjusts character colors on the regional map, known as the Town Map. There was also an issue that caused Professor Oak's first dialogue to end too quickly.
Furthermore, the project received a fix related to music playback. Thus, the version aims to eliminate glitches noticed during certain transitions.
Regarding the catch mode, the update also involves the Bug-Catching Contest. Previously, a fainted Pokémon could leave the event in an incorrect state. As a result, the author recorded a fix for ending the contest in this situation.
Finally, version 0.3.74 includes another Pikachu behavior adjustment. According to the logs, these issues were tracked individually on GitHub and closed by the developer.
Gen1Recomp 0.3.74 fixes Pokémon Emerald battles
Among the improvements gathered in Gen1Recomp 0.3.74 is the fix introduced in version 0.3.72. With this, the developer fixed the issue #2827, related to computer-controlled trainers in Pokémon Emerald.
Before the fix, the bug could prevent certain trainers from initiating a battle upon spotting the player. Furthermore, the report specifically mentions situations linked to the spinning floor puzzle in the gym.
Thus, the adjustment aims to restore the expected behavior of the trainers. However, the closure of the issue on GitHub represents a fix declared by the project, not an independent test performed by Allves Games.

In addition to these changes, version 0.3.72 addresses a momentary freezing issue when running and colliding with scenery elements in Emerald. It is worth remembering that this behavior had already received a fix in version 0.3.68, but reappeared in later reports.
Additionally, the developer fixed an issue involving the Self-Destruct move. Under a certain condition, the player's last Pokémon could faint without causing the expected consequence at the end of the battle.
Another issue dealt with trainer calls incorrectly reporting their location during rematch requests.
Pokémon Yellow receives improvements to Pikachu's animations
In Pokémon Yellow, version 0.3.72 focuses on various behavior and animation fixes. For example, the changelog mentions issues with Pikachu's behavior, including animations, moves, and moments when the character should react to the player.
Among the adjustments are situations where Pikachu would not look in the correct direction, would spin instantly, or would fail to display expected minor animations.
In addition, the developer fixed an issue related to a Pikachu sound that was not playing as it should.
In this context, the project received adjustments to the pacing of some sequences with Professor Oak and the rival. Furthermore, another fix deals with the musical transition on the title screen.

These changes seek to improve Gen1Recomp's fidelity to the original games. However, the results were described by the developer himself, without an independent comparison of all scenes.
Version 0.3.73 fixes the Hall of Fame
Subsequently, version 0.3.73 brought further improvements. Thus, the project fixed inconsistencies in the Hall of Fame ceremony, a sequence that records the player's achievement after the Pokémon League.
The issue #2836 brings together visual and pacing differences in the scene's presentation. In addition, the update corrected the positioning of the Poké Balls on the machine displayed during the ceremony.
Furthermore, the version adjusts character animation frames that remained static during certain scenes.
Another fixed issue involved the music stopping after the battle against the rival in the Pokémon League.
Therefore, versions 0.3.72 and 0.3.73 focus on changes in different gameplay situations, while 0.3.74 adds interface and behavior fixes.

Version 0.3.67 also fixed Pokémon data loss
Before the most recent updates, Gen1Recomp had already fixed another important issue. Version 0.3.67, published on October 9, addressed failures in Pokémon transfers between generations.
According to issue #2797, the Box system could modify IVs, reset EVs, or erase information related to the capture during certain migrations between Crystal and Emerald.
The developer fixed the processing of this data and added checks to prevent unintentional changes during the transfer. However, this change belongs specifically to version 0.3.67.
Furthermore, the same update addressed a Pokémon Emerald initialization failure on PlayStation 4, identified on Allves Games issue #2796.
Version 0.3.68 fixed a momentary freeze when running and colliding with scenery elements in Emerald. As new reports emerged later, version 0.3.72 returned to address this behavior.
Gen1Recomp continues to evolve on PC and mobile phones
Gen1Recomp uses a reimplementation in Lua and LÖVE2D to run classic Pokémon games on different platforms. Additionally, the project offers experimental three-dimensional presentation features through mods.
Therefore, 3D rendering with voxels is not a mandatory feature of the base engine. It depends on the resources and modifications used by the player.

With versions 0.3.72, 0.3.73, and 0.3.74, the developer began to focus new fixes on game fidelity, especially in battles, animations, and important campaign sequences.
The Allves Games also previously followed the version 0.3.48 and the save editor improvements. Furthermore, we have a tutorial for Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow in 3D on PC and mobile devices.
Finally, it is worth remembering that the fixes described were recorded by the developer in the official repository. They do not represent independent tests performed by Allves Games. The project remains in development, and new issues may appear on certain platforms.
