Bloodborne bbport received a Windows version on October 7, 2026, based on the community project that already ran the game on Linux. The approach is neither a source code recompilation nor a general PS4 emulator: the original Bloodborne 1.09 x86-64 code runs directly on the CPU, while a specific runtime replaces PS4 system functions and the graphics portion is translated to Vulkan.
The Windows adaptation has reached version 0.2 with a graphical launcher, audio, gamepad support, saves, FSR 3.1/4, and 30, 60, 90 FPS or unlocked framerate modes. Even so, the project remains experimental and does not yet have a validated full playthrough.
Bloodborne bbport on Windows executes the CPU without emulation
The most distinctive aspect of bbport lies on the CPU side. Since the PS4 version of Bloodborne already uses x86-64 code, the project prepares the executable before startup and lets that code run directly on the PC processor, without translating instruction by instruction.
The runtime implements only the system functions that Bloodborne actually calls, such as memory, threads, files, audio, controllers, and saves. On the other hand, graphics still rely on a renderer derived from shadPS4, which translates PS4 commands and shaders to Vulkan.
Therefore, simply calling the project a "native port" might hide part of the story. bbport itself compares the architecture to a combination of Wine and DXVK made for a single game: direct CPU and a specific layer for system and graphics.
Windows version adds launcher, FSR, and unlocked framerate
The Windows fork swaps Linux-specific components for native Win32 APIs and includes a graphical launcher. In it, you can choose internal resolution, FPS limit, FSR, and community patches before opening the game.
The project also integrates FSR 3.1 and FSR 4, in addition to synthetic motion vectors calculated by the port itself. Since Bloodborne lacks an internal velocity buffer, the system estimates camera and object movement to feed the temporal upscaler.
There is also an in-game menu, fixes for texture streaming, AT9 audio, and controller support via SDL3. The goal is to keep the original logic working while modern features are added around it.
How to download and run Bloodborne bbport on Windows
The package does not contain Bloodborne or protected files from Sony or FromSoftware. You need your own decrypted copy of Bloodborne CUSA03173 on version 1.09.
- Download the current bbport package for Windows.
DOWNLOAD UPDATED BLOODBORNE BBPORT WINDOWS
- Extract the ZIP into a regular 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 folder.
- Have your decrypted copy of the CUSA03173 folder updated to version 1.09.
- Open launch_gui.bat and select the eboot.bin or the game folder.
- Choose resolution, FPS limit and upscaler. Then, click on Launch Bloodborne.
The GPU requirement is Vulkan 1.3. The README cites GeForce GTX 10 or newer, Radeon RX 400 or newer, and Intel Arc, in addition to an x86-64 processor with AVX2 and Python 3.10 or higher for the launcher and patch compiler.
What still separates bbport from a conventional port
Although the CPU runs the original code directly, the graphics layer still reuses a base derived from shadPS4. Therefore, the project is not equivalent to source code remade for Windows and also does not eliminate all the translation required to run the PS4 version.
The developer of the Linux project describes the current state as experimental, yet playable. Hunter's Dream and several areas of Yharnam have already been tested, but the full campaign has not yet been verified from start to finish.
This also differentiates the project from improvements applied to shadPS4. Allves Games has already shown the DLSS5-Feeder on shadPS4; bbport follows another architecture and limits the entire runtime to Bloodborne 1.09.
Bloodborne bbport is still in development
Windows version 0.2 already distributes a public package and has made testing much more straightforward than compiling everything manually. However, performance, GPU compatibility, and stability can change quickly as the fork keeps up with the Linux project's changes.
It is also important to separate what has already been demonstrated from what is still planned. The project offers FSR, unlocked framerate, and save support now, while other graphics translation and memory improvements remain on the roadmap.
