Personified Fear

Personified Fear is a short error compared to the others, but it has very subtle or distressing sound changes. It can occur when there is an attempt to read a dirty or damaged disc. In this error, the second note of the main synthesizer is played for a longer time, and as I said, it may be nothing more than a subtle change. But at the same time, it will bring a certain distress to those who were not prepared for it. Next, we have a completely gray screen, sometimes black or sometimes white, added to the sound of reversed broken glass, which this time is very slowed down, and which can generate a feeling of jumpscare depending on the context.

In this error, the first half of the opening sequence proceeds normally and without issues. Then, a pause may occur, and subsequently, you can already notice a problem on the screen. The audio remains normal up to this point. You will see that the logo of PlayStation will not appear, but the logo of Sony will return, and most of the time quite broken, with distorted text. These screen glitches happen because the console interprets the data from the inserted media as incorrect commands on what to do, causing the process to corrupt. At this moment, what would many do? They would turn off or restart the console, right? Okay! But those who are patient enough to wait between 20 to 50 seconds will actually see the “Fearful Harmony”. A slower version of the opening bells begins to play, until more and more bells are played at different speeds and pitches. Meanwhile, the console continues trying to read the disc. Eventually, these sounds stop with three final notes, signaling that the PlayStation has done everything it could to read the media and failed. Even with the silence, the distorted Sony logo will remain on the screen. In terms of popularity, the Fearful Harmony error is the most famous in the PS1 opening, but it is the rarest.
But here is the thing, a question remained in the air: Why didn't the PlayStation logo appear, neither in "Fearful Harmony" nor in "Personified Fear"? Watch the video and find out: [embed]https://youtu.be/96PpPGxSJRU[/embed]
