The Project Ativ received a public presentation on October 13, 2026, as an experimental initiative for recompiling PS Vita games for PC. In a Reddit post, the creator showed progress with Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Unit 13, but has not yet released code or downloadable versions.

According to report published by the developer on r/recomps, both games already show execution progress. However, the stability assessment is by the author themselves, without independent tests published in this verification.

The creator states that they are fixing bugs and inconsistencies related to 60 FPS modes. In addition, they shared a video demonstration on YouTube Shorts, associated with the original post.

The material does not equate to a ready-to-install public version. For now, the creator reports progress, but has not presented independent tests proving the possibility of fully completing the games on PC.

How PS Vita recompilation would work

In the comments, the person responsible explains that they work with code executed by the PS Vita and with system libraries translated to native platforms. In addition, the project uses adaptations for resolution, controller input, and frame rate.

One of the difficulties involves the handheld's front and rear touch features. According to the author, L1 and R1 activate onscreen cursors to reproduce these actions with a conventional controller. Thus, the project tries to preserve commands that relied on the original hardware.

In turn, the developer states that they used artificial intelligence assistance for decompilation analysis and integration creation. However, this information is a statement by the author himself, not an evaluation of the code's quality or security.

Is there a public download for Project Ativ?

No. As of October 14, 2026, the developer describes the repository as private and has not made an installer, open-source code, or public release of Project Ativ available. Therefore, there is no legitimate download button to include in this news item.

Furthermore, the creator mentions Killzone: Mercenary and LittleBigPlanet as future projects. However, there is still no reason to treat these ideas as completed or available ports.

Project is different from Vita3K and other tools

Project Ativ is an independent initiative. Therefore, it does not correspond to the Vita3K emulator nor to the Vita Recomp Tool, used in a God of War demonstration. These are distinct works, with their own developers and methods.

For now, the next verifiable milestone will be a broader technical demonstration, public documentation, or the release of an initial build. Thus, until then, functionality claims remain attributed to the creator.
