Nimbus Alpha 1.4 brings Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors to PC and Android

The Nimbus Alpha 1.4 added support for Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors, the original Game Boy Advance game, on November 4, 2026. According to the release notes published by the project, the new feature uses static recompilation to run the title as a native program on Windows, Linux, and Android. In addition, the author reports cross-platform multiplayer between these platforms.

This update is different from the ports that the same Nimbus already maintained for Dragon Ball Z games originally released on the GameCube. Thus, the Alpha 1.4 version represents the arrival of a new game from another platform to the launcher, not just a cosmetic menu change.

Nimbus Alpha 1.4: Supersonic Warriors on PC and Android

The main novelty of Nimbus Alpha 1.4 is the native version of Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors, based on the code of the Game Boy Advance title. Unlike a conventional emulator that continuously interprets console instructions, the project uses static recompilation. However, the result is still experimental and does not replace the original game files.

The author also mentions resolution scaling of up to 8x. However, this does not guarantee that all effects, two-dimensional elements, or animation timings will look perfect on every screen. Therefore, users should expect differences compared to the original hardware.

Multiplayer between Windows, Linux, and Android

According to the release, the project offers local matches via Link VS and netplay between players on Windows, Linux, and Android. The possibility of cross-platform play is one of the highlights of this edition. Additionally, the public packages include specific executables for different systems.

However, the developer acknowledges that the timing system is still being fine-tuned and may run one frame ahead in certain situations. The audio also presents differences compared to the original Game Boy Advance. Thus, it is not appropriate to call this edition a flawless reproduction or a trouble-free competitive experience.

How to download Nimbus Alpha 1.4

  1. Open the official page of version Alpha 1.4 on GitHub.
  2. Choose the package corresponding to your system: ZIP file for Windows, installer or script for Linux, or ARM64 APK for Android, according to the files displayed by the developer.
  1. Check the extension, architecture, and origin of the package before installing. Do not download the source code file as if it were an installer.
  2. Run or install the program following the repository's guidelines. Check the requested permissions, especially on Android.
  3. Use only data obtained legally from your own compatible copy of the game.
  4. If you want to test netplay, update all participants to the specified version and check the connection requirements in the project.

The public repository lists the package formats, but the existence of a ZIP or APK does not prove successful installation on all devices. Allves Games has not performed its own testing of the application. Therefore, we recommend checking known issues before modifying personal files.

Performance and limitations

The author reports execution close to 60 FPS on the Retroid Pocket 5, with specific hardware and settings. However, this figure is not an independent benchmark and does not serve as a performance guarantee on other mobile phones or computers.

There are also reports of audio differences, timing still under development, and potential synchronization issues. Therefore, anyone seeking the highest fidelity Game Boy Advance experience should consider these caveats when using the Alpha version.

Nimbus does not include Dragon Ball Z ROMs

The community project does not distribute the original ROM of Supersonic Warriors, and the installation of other supported titles also requires proprietary and legitimate files. The software is maintained by an independent developer and is not an officially licensed version by Bandai Namco or the companies responsible for Dragon Ball.
