The project NFS Underground 2 Android presented in October 8, 2026 a new native recompilation test with racing segments on mobile. The person responsible recorded samples of 35 to 51 FPS on the device identified as SM-S938B, at 1170 × 540 pixels. Furthermore, the experimental version showed HUD, traffic, opponents, and acceleration controls working. For now, there is no public APK ready for download.
The project Need for Speed Underground 2 Recompiled part of the original 2004 PC release and pre-compiles parts of the executable into native ARM64 code. However, the presentation of these results comes from the developer. No independent tests of a full race, broad compatibility, or performance across various phones were found.
NFS Underground 2 Android: what changed in the October 8th test?
The main advancement appears in the technical report for version 0.10.0. Before the optimization, an initial test showed 2.5 to 2.7 frames per second. With adjustments to the compilation process and task scheduling, the samples moved to approximately 35–51 FPS at the same resolution.

The author reports having loaded the Resort Loop track, displayed the countdown, and reached over 100 km/h with the accelerator pressed. Therefore, there is a demonstration of activity within a race, not just the menu. However, there was no confirmation that all laps were completed without glitches.
Touch controls and virtual steering wheel are under development
Another advancement involves the on-screen controls. Now, the player can toggle between menu interface and steering, accelerator, brake, nitro, and handbrake commands. Furthermore, an editor allows moving the buttons, resizing them, and saving separate profiles for navigation and racing.

Visual styles include controls inspired by Xbox and PlayStation. The developer has also implemented tilt steering using the phone's sensor and sensitivity adjustments. However, the command still behaves like a digital input in some modes and does not entirely replace an analog steering wheel.
The report warns that external Bluetooth controllers have not been validated at this stage. Therefore, it would be premature to promise full support for any gamepad. The application also attempts to maintain the execution state when switching between windows, with pause and resume handling for the rendering.
Underground 2 garage and visual options on Android
The repository publishes screenshots of the garage, including car customization parts. Thus, the project demonstrates that it can render more than just a static screen. Even so, it does not automatically prove that the entire campaign, every event, and all menus are already ready for continuous use.

The base uses a Direct3D 9 to Vulkan conversion, while the game logic is rebuilt for execution on the mobile system. Furthermore, the author documents resolution options, FPS limits, and interface management. Stability may vary significantly depending on graphics drivers, amount of memory, and Android version.
There is no public APK of NFS Underground 2 Android
Despite the videos and screenshots of the prototype, checking the repository's releases did not find an installable package available to the public. Therefore, there is no official Android game download button in this article. The code and tests require compilation knowledge and the files from a legally acquired copy of the original PC Need for Speed Underground 2.
The project does not include commercial data, cars, music, or the proprietary executable. Furthermore, the test shown uses a specific device and does not mean that other Androids will be able to run the version with similar performance.

What is missing for the port to be available?
The test report itself states that a full three-lap race, compatibility with older Vulkan hardware, and certain resolution options have not yet been verified. Additionally, integration with Bluetooth controllers and proportional steering remain as future work.
The advances indicate that the NFS Underground 2 Android has moved out of the menu phase and reached a functional race under specific conditions. However, the next editorial milestone will be the release of a public installable version, accompanied by independent tests and reproducible instructions.
The Allves Games follows native port and classic recompilation projects, such as RingOut for SoulCalibur II on Windows. However, each work uses distinct techniques, and none of these results should be confused with traditional emulation or an official version from Electronic Arts.
