Disgaea D2 received a public project on October 5, 2026, that recompiles the PlayStation 3 game for native execution on Apple Silicon Macs. The author claims to have tested the port up to endgame content and reports around 60 FPS on an M4 Mac mini, with imported save files and new optimizations still in progress.
The project uses ps3recomp to translate the game's code and generates an arm64 application for macOS. Additionally, the author states that the work was built almost entirely with AI agents, mainly Claude and Codex, while they directed and tested the result.
Disgaea D2 runs natively on macOS
According to the official README, the current build uses Metal and already sustains approximately 60 FPS in both battles and exploration on an M4 Mac. The goal of upcoming optimizations, however, is to reduce CPU usage and temperature, not to increase the frame rate.

The author also states that they imported saves and tested an endgame fight. Even so, the project is still under development and this validation is an individual test by the person in charge, not a guarantee of full compatibility on all Macs.
Disgaea D2 port uses the user's own copy of the game
The repository does not distribute commercial data, decrypted executables, saves, or the full game. To compile, the user must provide their own executables from the supported versions and locally set up the necessary environment.
Therefore, there is no public installable package ready for this article. The README describes a local compilation process with Xcode, CMake, Ninja, Python, and dependencies installed via Homebrew.

Project may still come to other platforms
In the introductory post, the developer said he plans to try versions for Android, Linux, and Windows in case no one does it first. Currently, however, the confirmed support in the repository is macOS arm64.
The project is different from emulating the game in RPCS3 or other solutions. For context, Allves Games also accompanies advances in RPCS3 on PC and improvements in PS3 emulation on Android with ARMSX3.
AI played a central role in development
The author openly declares that the port was built almost entirely by AI agents. He cites Claude and Codex, while assuming the role of direction, testing, and adjustments based on game behavior.
This transparency matters because it differentiates this project from recompilations done entirely through manual programming. At the same time, the result still requires independent technical validation as more users test the code.
Thus, Disgaea D2 Allves Games already has a functional demonstration of native execution on macOS, but it should still not be treated as a finished port or distributed in a ready-to-use package.
