Dante's Inferno PC, known as Hell's Gate Recomp, received version 0.8.4-beta on October 16, 2026. According to release notes from developer florinp93, the update pre-compiles shaders before gameplay, offers a portable build, and fixes startup, controller, and audio issues. This is an independent project, not an official release from Electronic Arts.
The project repository explains that the Xbox 360 game was recompiled for native execution. Thus, the current version requires files from the user's original copy; the port downloads do not include the game.
Dante's Inferno PC: what changes in version 0.8.4
The main new feature is the early preparation of graphics pipelines. Thus, instead of compiling certain shaders only when an effect appears on screen, the program attempts to prepare them before gameplay. According to the changelog, the measure also accounts for DLC effects and aims to reduce stuttering during the first run.
In addition, the developer included a portable ZIP package without a traditional installer. It now defaults to using the userdata folder, next to the game, for saves and settings. Even so, the launcher needs to import files from the user's own copy.

Additionally, the package bundles fixes for shortcuts using Shift, shutdowns related to the Windows folder protection feature, and timing irregularities that affected audio and frame rate. These improvements are described by the author; we did not perform independent performance tests.
Port requirements and limitations
According to the Hell's Gate documentation, the edition distributed for Windows requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a graphics card compatible with Vulkan 1.3 and the Streamline components Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x64. An Xbox 360 ISO obtained from your own copy of the game is also required.
In turn, to use DLCs, the user needs the respective legitimate STFS packages. In addition, framerates above 60 FPS remain experimental and may affect the speed of some game routines. Therefore, the presence of high FPS options does not guarantee correct operation in all scenes.
However, version 0.8.4's patch notes still list minor audio cuts or repetitions under investigation. Therefore, the announced fixes do not mean that all sound issues have been resolved.

On the other hand, the author warns that some antiviruses may flag the installer. This warning does not prove a false positive: before running any file, check the origin and evaluate safety warnings. The project is still in beta.

The two files for the 0.8.4 beta were rechecked on October 20, 2026: approximately 19,6 MB for the installer and 31,7 MB for the ZIP. For later versions, consult the official releases page. The audit used public metadata without executing the binaries.
Other ports that came to PC
Hell's Gate is part of the expansion of projects that run console games natively. On Allves Games, we also showed the Burnout 3: Takedown PC port and the PS2 God of War project for computers. However, each initiative has its own requirements and stage of development.
