TimeSplitters 2 recompiled for PC already has a playable build based on the PlayStation 2 version. The developer showcased the project again on September 26, 2026, and on September 30, the community expanded the build's promotion. The goal is to faithfully reproduce the PS2 edition on the computer without depending on PCSX2 during execution.
The author himself states that he can already play the build and now needs more people to test levels, effects, and modes. In addition, users who followed the project confirmed mouse and keyboard support. Current distribution takes place primarily through the TimeSplitters Online Discord server, so there is still no public releases page on GitHub.

TimeSplitters 2 recompiled is already playable on PC
The developer showcased a playable build upon returning to the project and published images of his run through the Wild West level. At the time, he was investigating a fluid rendering bug and reported that he had already fixed the issue. Afterward, he asked for help testing the rest of the campaign, since the game has plenty of content.
This request shows that the port has moved from the proof-of-concept stage into a practical validation phase. Even so, the author themselves describes the work as incomplete. The immediate goal is to achieve a faithful reproduction of the PS2 version before creating a separate fork with modern improvements.
A post by the developer themselves presents the playable build and asks the community for help testing the port.
Port based on the PlayStation 2 version
TimeSplitters 2 originally arrived in 2002 for PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. This project works specifically with the PS2 edition and requires each user to provide their own legally acquired copy. The developer makes it clear that they do not distribute the commercial game files.
The technique also differentiates the novelty from a conventional PCSX2 setup. In an emulator, the computer reproduces the environment expected by the PlayStation 2 software during execution. Meanwhile, this project rebuilds the game for a native PC environment and seeks to preserve the behavior of the original.
This path requires specific work on rendering, audio, input, and services expected by the game. Therefore, an initial build allowing people to play does not mean that all levels, modes, and effects are already perfect.
Mouse and keyboard work already
Among the first pieces of information confirmed by the community is mouse and keyboard support. This feature gains importance in an FPS created originally for console controllers. Furthermore, current tests should reveal level and effect issues that a single developer would hardly be able to cover alone.
The author specifically cited Wild West when showing the current state. During the tests, he investigated the issue that hid water and other fluids and reported that he has already fixed the flaw. Therefore, the build is still receiving active adjustments even with playable campaign segments.

It is not the hidden port of Homefront
There is another important distinction. TimeSplitters 2 has already appeared on PC inside Homefront: The Revolution, released in 2016. Crytek UK included part of the game as an easter egg and, later, the community found ways to access more content. The project TS2 Redux fixes and expands upon this implementation.
However, the new initiative does not stem from that Homefront port. It works with the PlayStation 2 version and aims for fidelity to the original edition. Therefore, they are technically different projects, even though both offer ways to play TimeSplitters 2 on the computer.
Allves Games has already followed other projects that follow similar paths to bring games out of their original consoles. The LCS Recomp, for instance, transforms the PSP version of GTA Liberty City Stories into a Windows port. Meanwhile, the Mercenaries Recompiled works with the Xbox version executable. In contrast, the PS5SX2 remains PS2 emulation.
Build circulates through the community
On September 30, a new post on r/decomps drew attention to the build and confirmed that the project remains focused on the TimeSplitters Online Discord. Users also asked again about mouse and keyboard, and the community's response was positive.
The September 30 disclosure broadened the reach of the TimeSplitters 2 PC build.
Android and iOS have not been announced yet
As of September 30, 2026, the developer has presented the project as a PC port. There is no official APK for Android, IPA for iPhone or iPad, TestFlight, or App Store version. Likewise, there is no public confirmation of ARM or ARM64 builds for mobile phones.
There is also no documentation confirming Vulkan, OpenGL ES, or Metal on mobile devices. Therefore, any mobile version remains a future possibility rather than a feature of the current project.
Campaign tests will be decisive
The opening of tests marks a concrete shift in stage. Previously, the project appeared mainly as a work in progress. Now, there is a playable build in the hands of more people. Consequently, the community may encounter regressions and incompatibilities more quickly.
At the same time, important elements are still missing to consider the port mature. A versioned public release, a formal requirements list, compatibility documentation, and complete campaign and multiplayer tests would help better gauge the project's state.
For now, TimeSplitters 2 joins the recent wave of projects seeking to run classic games natively outside of their original hardware. The next step will be to verify how far the campaign, multiplayer, and different modes work consistently on PC.
