The Rewooled 1.1.1 provides an open reimplementation of Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf, also known as Sheep Raider, for Windows, Linux and macOS. The October 12, 2026 update distributes three executable packages and fixes an issue with loading PlayStation version outlines.

It is important to note that the original game already had a PC release. Therefore, the news does not represent the first arrival of Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf to computers, but a modern reimplementation that uses the user's original copy files.

What Rewooled 1.1.1 offers

According to SDW community repository, the project replaces old APIs with SDL3 and offers rendering via Vulkan, DirectX 12, and Metal. In addition, it supports modern controllers and allows replacing textures with PNG files in different resolutions.

In addition, version 1.1.1, released on October 12, fixes a bug related to PSX graphics outlines. However, the README itself states that support for files in this edition has not yet undergone complete testing.

The developers describe the project as an open-source cross-platform reimplementation. The process involved community research from Sheep Raider and the use of AI tools in code analysis and rewriting, as stated in the README.

Which platforms have public downloads?

The release 1.1.1 offers three zipped packages, one for each platform. All are small, around 3.9 MB to 4.5 MB, because they do not contain the commercial game files.

  1. Windows x64: download the corresponding ZIP package.

Extract the Windows ZIP to a folder of your choice. Then, open the launcher and select the folder with your original game installation files.

  1. Linux x86_64: download the architecture-specific package.

On Linux, extract the file and consult the project instructions for execution and dependencies. The README reports support for x86_64 and arm64 compilation, but the binary package identified in this release is x86_64.

  1. macOS ARM64: download the ZIP for Macs with Apple Silicon.

On the other hand, on macOS, the build does not have a developer signature. Therefore, the system may require manual authorization after the user verifies the application's origin. The README documents this procedure.

Original files remain mandatory

Despite these improvements, Rewooled does not distribute models, sounds, textures, or other commercial game assets. Therefore, the user needs to point to the folder of a legitimate copy of Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf in the launcher.

Furthermore, the project should not be confused with a confirmed static recompilation of the original executable. Its documentation describes it as an open-source reimplementation. Therefore, it is best to treat the two methods separately.
