GalaxyCraft integrates Minecraft into Super Mario Galaxy 2 in experimental mod

The GalaxyCraft is an experimental mod that connects Minecraft to Super Mario Galaxy 2 through a modified Dolphin. M0uidev's public project, with development registered in October 2026, allows building block planets and controlling Mario in environments that combine the two games. According to the official repository, the integration works via shared memory and remains under development.

How GalaxyCraft connects Minecraft and Mario

GalaxyCraft uses three components. First, a Fabric mod runs Minecraft Java and manages blocks, inventory, and structures. In addition, a modified version of Dolphin runs the original Wii game. Finally, a Syati/Kamek module inside Super Mario Galaxy 2 draws planets, applies gravity, and integrates collisions.

Thus, the mod is neither a native recompilation of Super Mario Galaxy 2 nor just a texture swap. Dolphin continues to emulate the Wii game, while the computer runs Minecraft separately. The two programs share world and movement data.

GalaxyCraft brings together blocks, gravity, and creatures

According to the creator's README, Mario can walk across spherical planets made of Minecraft blocks, mine, build, use liquids, and interact with items. The project also describes redstone, inventory, creatures, combat, and physical objects integrated into Super Mario Galaxy 2's scenery.

Additionally, the F6 key toggles between Mario's movement and Minecraft's movement style. The goal is to preserve the gravity of the Nintendo game's planets, but allow actions characteristic of the block game.

The concept is reminiscent of other technical bridges, such as LibertyCraft, which integrates Minecraft and GTA IV. However, each project uses different solutions and should not be confused with a simple visual mashup.

Can the project be played yet?

The author describes GalaxyCraft as a work in progress, built and tested on Linux. The documentation requires build tools, Minecraft Java, and a legally owned copy of the North American edition of Super Mario Galaxy 2 (SB4E01). No commercial game files are included with the project.

The repository includes code and build instructions, alongside a documented launcher for Linux and Windows. However, the existence of this launcher does not prove a ready-to-install package nor independent functional testing on Windows. Therefore, there is no full game download button in this news item.

By comparison, the EldenCraft integrates Minecraft elements into Elden Ring GalaxyCraft, on the other hand, combines the Dolphin emulator, Minecraft, and modifications executed within the Wii game itself.

What is still left to confirm?

The repository offers technical documentation and tests by the creator, but Allves Games has not performed an independent execution. Furthermore, our verification did not find an unambiguous public video of the project nor did it confirm an installable binary package. Therefore, anyone intending to try out the mod should consider its early stage.
