The upcoming month marks the third year of the
Nintendo Switch Online, and it seems that discussions are once again returning about Nintendo potentially updating its paid service with additional retro content. In the most recent podcast
"Nate the Hate", the well-known insider '
NateDrake' talks about how the
Nintendo may be adding
Game Boy games and
Game Boy Color titles in the coming weeks.
All of this comes from a
2019 datamine - which revealed four emulators inside the app
NES from
Nintendo. Although the purpose of the remaining emulators has not yet been revealed, both
Nate and his co-host '
MVG' believe that the third '
Hiyoko is likely for titles of
"Game Boy and Game Boy Color".
Nintendo Life, a reference portal for content about the Japanese giant, also confirmed with its own sources that the
Game Boy and
Game Boy color will probably arrive at the service
Switch Online "very soon".
The
insider also cited games from
Game Boy Advance, but with much less optimism, reducing the chances of that specific handheld having its titles included in a future update of
Nintendo Switch Online.
