- Alan Wake Remastered will use the Northlight Engine, by Remedy Entertainment, previously used in Control.
- The game will support ray tracing for reflections on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, but not on last-generation consoles.
- There is no scheduled version for Nintendo Switch. Perhaps a version in Cloud may arise, as well as in Control.
- Current-gen consoles will benefit from higher resolutions and QOL changes, but without ray tracing.
- The remaster will support 60 FPS.
The versions of PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox are currently listed on Rakuten Taiwan, with what appears to be the game's box art. The remaster will be the debut of the Xbox 360 classic on consoles PlayStation. Senior analyst at Niko Partners, Daniel Ahmad, tweeted saying that Alan Wake Remastered will be announced next week.
The existence of this remaster is no surprise. In June, Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy 7 Remake were spotted in Epic Games Store database updates, suggesting that a release for PC was in the planning stage, which may happen in the future. Last year, the developer Remedy announced that it had signed a publishing agreement for two projects along with Epic Gamesand then reintroduced the character Alan Wake through the game's second expansion, Controlwhich wove the story of both games together as part of a broader narrative universe of the Remedy. Alan Wake 2 was then reported as one of the projects funded by Remedy. It makes sense that the remaster is the “new smaller-scale project set in the same franchise”.Will be announced next week
